A special outfit often carries more than one material, one finish or one memory. The useful first step is to describe the whole piece, not just ask for a standard wash.

Make the details visible

Mention embroidery, sequins, attached jewellery, delicate trims and loose threads. Identify the pieces in the set, including a blouse, dupatta or detachable lining. A photograph or clear description can help explain what you want assessed.

Say what happened

If there is a stain, explain its cause and age if you know them. Mention any rubbing, soaking or product already used. This history is more useful than a promise that “it is only a small mark”.

Ask for a care decision

The label and the piece’s condition determine appropriate care. Decoration, fabric and construction can call for an individual quote. An estimate for an ordinary garment is not a reliable price for every embellished outfit.

Include the occasion date

Say when you need the outfit, then ask for the treatment and return plan to be confirmed. Make notes about packaging or finishing preferences before care is agreed, rather than assuming every outfit can be finished or stored in the same way.

  • List the pieces in the outfit.
  • Flag decoration and existing damage.
  • Share stain history and your required date.
  • Confirm the quote and care plan after assessment.

Keep this in mind

The more specific the piece, the more useful a specific care conversation becomes.

Always follow the instructions for your actual garment or pair. A care plan needs to reflect its material and condition.
